Emergency Services
Viking Drive Veterinary Hospital provides emergency care services during office hours to pet owners in Bossier City, and the surrounding areas of Louisiana. We are able to provide critical care for emergency patients during our regular office hours excluding seizures and trauma.
You can be assured that your pet’s emergency will receive a prompt response from our staff. These cases are taken to one of our examination rooms where we will work to achieve a stable condition while diagnosing your pet’s injury or illness.
When should you seek emergency care for your pet? The easiest answer as to whether you should seek emergency care for your pet is when you feel his or her medical condition is serious and cannot wait. However, the following general situations should help you determine if you need to seek emergency care for your pet:

- Electric shock
- Excessive vomiting or diarrhea
- Bleeding
- Exhibits symptoms of heat stroke
- Sudden onset of weakness
- High or low temperature (more than 104 or less than 100 degrees)
- Unable to urinate or defecate
In the event of an emergency during office hours, please call 318-747-9150 before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular emergency.
Should you have an emergency outside of our regular office hours, or if your pet has had an emergency and requires overnight monitoring, we use the services of Animal Emergency Clinic located at 2421 Line Ave. in Shreveport. (318) 227-2345.
